Been wanting to share this since last year. It was my first human couple illustration with a theme very similar to my Antelope Wedding print, but instead of animal couple, Nadya wanted themselves to be on the invite. :)
I remembered she was my first well organized, fuss free and polite client. She had all the information layout nicely in a ppt file, from colors, to their wedding outfits. Even the details were typed out in the exact format. When the illustration was done, not a single change to the design, just minor typo needed to be amend.
Made my job so much easier.
And through her emails, I really feel very appreciated which made all the effort I put into this project super worthwhile. :)
Of course there were many other clients who were really grateful, just that she was the first. ;p
So heres the process:
Color theme which she provided me with and some of the key elements that was essential to the invitation.
Nadya also wanted to include a lovely poem she love by E.E.Cummings:
" here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart ( I carry it in my heart )"
From this poem, I suggested to have a big tree behind the couple illustration to represent the tree of life rather than follow similar background in the Antelope invite. With the floral arch and fairy lights, it gives off a magical feel, like a ceremony under the tree and a start of their new beginning in life. :)
